This versatile, hands-on subtraction set is made to be paired with teddy bear math counters. Little learners will count out and place the number of bears that correspond to the minuend on the tray. Then they will remove the number of bears that corresponds to the subtrahend. They can then solve the equation by counting the remaining bears.

There are two ways to use this set:

Option 1: Paired with Equation Cards

There are 65 equation cards and 11 number cards for each of 6 teddy bear counter colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Pair the tray sheet with a selection of equation cards and their corresponding answer cards. Be sure to use the colour that matches the bear counters you have on hand.

This option allows you to create multiple staged invitations by
colour. This option also allows for control of error by offering a select number of equation cards and their corresponding answer cards to choose from. Use of the equation cards also ensures the addends are placed in the correct order (i.e.: no negative results).

Option 2: Laminate & Pair with Dry Erase Marker - Write the Equations

This option is perfect for the homeschooler or those who want to save time on printing and preparation.

Print and laminate the blank tray sheet(s) in the colour(s) that correspond with the bear counters you have on hand.

Use a dry erase marker to write the equation to be solved. The student will then write the answer once solved. Alternately you can add velcro dots and pair with the number cards included.

**This set has been created to pair with plastic teddy bear counters and includes scaled placement prompts.**

    Tray sheet measures 11" x 8.5"

Equation cards measure 5" wide by 2.3" high
